Munazi Lodge

An eco-friendly, tranquil space in the forest, where nature and comfort come together.

Welcome to Munazi

Tucked away in the lush forests of Nyungwe, Munazi Lodge is built using reclaimed exotic wood from the National Park, helping native plants regenerate and supporting the local environment.

Most of what you’ll see and experience here, from the handcrafted furniture to the thoughtful design of our spaces, is made by local artisans and construction teams, working closely with park managers and engineers. It’s a community effort, rooted in sustainability and respect for the land.

Our signature A-frame cabins are designed to suit the region’s high rainfall while letting in natural light and keeping you warm. Elevated above the forest floor, each private unit blends into the landscape and offers wide, open views making you feel connected to nature while still having your own space. Forested footpaths lead to every cabin, adding a sense of adventure and tranquillity to your stay.

Just 1.2 km off the Kigali–Rusizi highway near Pindura, Munazi feels a world away from traffic and noise yet it’s easy to reach. From your cabin, you can look out over a beautiful north-facing valley, and on clear days, even catch a glimpse of Lake Kivu.

The forest around Munazi is alive with wildlife. You might spot chimpanzees, Angolan black-and-white colobus monkeys, mountain monkeys, or silver monkeys during your stay. It’s also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with species like colourful turacos and Albertine Rift endemics making regular appearances. Whether you’re looking for a quiet getaway, a place to reconnect with nature, or an eco-friendly adventure, Munazi Lodge offers a warm welcome and an unforgettable experience.
